In the video ‘Feel good inc by Gorillaz’ I think the genre is rock based video, due to that it is set in a very dark setting and that close ups of the bass guitar are used. I also think the genre of this music is rap, due to the use of rap music beginning used in the video and the visuals on a TV screen showing a rapper. This video also shows all band members in the video which reflects on that this is a band, and I also think that this is electronic due to the use of graphics and not using the band in a video, which is typical known in electronic videos.

In the chorus ‘Wind mill, wind mill,’ an image of a green will mill flying appears, I think this reflects on a good place. Then in the visuals looking at the building feel good inc, this Is a very dark place, therefore showing opposites. The use of calling the song ‘feel good inc,’ I think contradicts with the visuals due to that when 2d sings he is very miserable, therefore it is ironic that they have call the song ‘feel good inc.’ by doing this I think they are trying to send out a message. Also the ‘hahahaha’ laughing shows of a evil element to the video, which brings a very dark mood to the video.

On the chorus, it is based on the windmill so this is illustrated by showing a flying windmill. Also to show that this is a band, at certain points of the video close ups of the bass player Murdoc, the drummer russel and 2d singing are shown. On a guitar solo this is illustrated by the made up character Noddle playing the guitar on the windmill.

I think how the band tries to sell this record is by using graphics and making up a band, so by doing this they are first doing something different therefore this draws our attention to the video. Therefore by getting out attention, they are more likely to sell the record. They use cartoons and not people; therefore they can create anyone they want to have/be. I also think that they are trying to portray a dark image, so this is used to show darker messages and opinions, which is also shown through there lyrics. This video also relates to other videos by using the theme of war as well.

A reference to the notion of looking is also used with the character Murdoc. He has been portrayed as a rock sex god. By stereotypically making Murdoc play the bass guitar with his shirt off and with many females around him in the dark, this gives a certain notion of looking even though this made up character.

By using the helicopters in the video I think this reflects on the theme of war. So by using a warn out city as well I think this reflects on the government, control and in their eyes what the government is doing to us.

This is a concept video due to that, the band has been made up and that graphics in the video have been used. So by making up a band with graphics, due to it is different this is how the band sell their records.

To conclude, i think that this video is a concept video due to has used graphics and that due to is so dark i would say that the band is trying to protray a message to the audience. Also due to is a band, close up of imstruments are used and because this video is dark i would say that this is a rock genre video. By using graphics this therefore is something diffrent, so by doing something diffrent this will draw attension to the band then therefore sell records.
