Song Choice 2

Name of track – I Am Me
Artist/Director – Ashlee Simpson

My Second song choice is Ashlee Simpson – I am me, again based on a female like she again is telling a story. This time though the video has a more rock based feel to it so use of a band may be required in this film. The feelings that come across in this video is anger and not changing for no one which would be shown through a mid/ fast beat video. Mid long shots can be used when Ashlee Simpson is singing, use of fast rotation, quick transitions can be used her as well, ‘I won’t change for anyone.’ Then close up shots of Ashlee Simpson can be used to show crucial parts of her song, ‘like you.’ The setting of the video could be set in a studio with a very dark atmosphere with black back drops. Smoke machine could be used at her feet when rotating the camera. Also using a dark setting can emphasis the blondness of Ashlee Simpson’s hair, making her the main focus. This dark studio setting could also be where the band is set as well, where the band can be viewed in the video at main instrumental parts. Then the use of cross cutting to Ashlee Simpson in her life talking to her boyfriend asleep set at night where she lives (may be difficult to do at night so really blacked out windows can be used here.) In the next verse could be to the next day and when she is speaking or yelling at her boyfriend (could almost be like a ghost). Why would I change could be showing her boyfriend why would she change, then at the end could be Ashlee Simpson looking over at her boyfriend and his new girlfriend and yelling ‘what she got that I don’t have’ Ending could be based back at studio and life, fast cross cuttings and rotations showing the upset and anger of Ashlee Simpson.
