For Lily Allen’s website, it is shown as one page with all information on it. Then links are used to connect to other websites, such as buying her album from Amazon, our purchasing merchandise from her shop. The layout starts with a header, which is the first thing that readers see on screen. The header is of selling Lily Allen’s album on Amazon and using a link onto the website. Due to this, it is the first thing readers see. This is the first thing that draws people's attention and so is a good marketing convention. Shown above is the compulsory MySpace bar which is found on every MySpace site, by doing this, this makes the website in house style. So, therefore, if the same toolbar is used in every webpage, the user understands how to use the toolbar, the user will find using the website easier. Below the header we have the main part if the website. Having a picture of Lily Allen, in the centre of the page this is reminding the viewer whose website this is, therefore another selling technique to sell the artist's albulms and make her more popular with more fans. Also as they scroll down, the screen this background is constantly their, therefore is constantly showing the artist no matter where at the website they look at. The layout of the website is having two columns at the side of the page, therefore allowing the picture of Lily Allen to show through. In the top left corner we have the artist's profile picture and basic details, telling the viewer who the website belongs to, and on the right a music player with her latest music to sell and listen to her music. This has been placed here so when people just glance at the website, these parts of information are "short & sweet", used to draw the viewer’s eye to the screen. At the bottom left are links to useful things that the user can do, for example; chat and message therefore making the website very interactive for the user. Then, on the right are tour dates of the artist meant to sell tickets to see the artist perform. Looking at this layout of the website is very logical and thought out, therefore is designed to popularise the artist and sell her music to the user. Then once scrolled down, the text expands, giving more detail of the artist & Lily Allen’s URL is available. So, to find out more information about the artist the viewer has to scroll down the screen to view that information, whilst passing through other selling information to, again, sell the artist's merchandise. Then underneath this are Lily Allen’s videos, another method to sell her songs, by watching something visual, the viewer is more likely to remember the songs. Also more links of Lily Allen’s blogs are available, Lily Allen’s contacts, fans & comments to show how famous and popular Lily Allen is.

The text on the website only shows things that the viewer needs to see, such as music influences, tour dates, name, place, (the main information about the artist) The text does support the visuals by showing confidence in her photos, therefore by not showing much information about herself, this shows us that she is already a well know artist. Also by having a big list of influences shows her popularity. Therefore reflecting on the confidence that is shown in her pictures. The styling is constantly using the same clear font for the website.

Representation

Lily Allen is very well known for her looks; therefore iconography is used here by using big images of lily Allen on her website. Also using very bright colours in her website, tells us that she is a pop styled artist. But also having those bright colours illustrates in her personality that she may be load and different that is also reflected in her music.

Audience

This website has a target audience that is for young people. This is told by that the users that use MySpace are mainly young people and that the bright colouring would also reflect on this.

Institution

The record label for lily Allen is regal/ parlophone, which are two main stream record labels that are very well known. This would show us then that this artist is also a main stream artist and very well known, therefore most likely has reached the famous stardom life.
